The STMA School District is pleased to announce that Fieldstone Elementary, St. Michael Elementary, Big Woods Elementary, and Albertville Primary have been invited to participate in the Minnesota Reading Corps (MRC) program. MRC is a statewide initiative to help every Minnesota child become a successful reader by the end of 3rd grade. This tutor works one-on-one with 1st– 3rd grade students who are just below proficiency in reading. Beginning in August, recruited members will receive training and serve for 11 months. In exchange for their service, members receive a modest living allowance and an education award to use toward college tuition or to pay back federal student loans.
